Norman H. Hurd Jr. is the proud pastor of Agape Missionary Church of Aurora, Colorado. Born July 17, 1952, in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Newark School of the Arts (Arts High School) and graduated in 1970. He entered into the United States Army in February of 1972. In May 1981 he was assigned to the Army Recruiting Command stationed in Denver, CO from where he retired in February 1992. He answered the call to ministry under the guidance of Pastor Fred Hopson of St. Stephen’s Missionary Baptist Church in May of 1987. In 1989 he accepted the call to Pastor the Greater St. John Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado and in December of 1992 founded Agape Missionary Church where he now presides. Pastor Hurd is the husband of Cheryl L. Hurd and the proud father of 4 sons and 1 daughter. In October 1992 Pastor Hurd was introduced to Bishop DL Jones, Overseer of The Living Gospel Church, headquartered in Compton, CA. Realizing that it was not good that the church had no affiliation or covering we united with The Living Gospel Church Fellowship and are under the oversight of Bishop DL Jones. He presently sits on the Board of Directors of The Living Gospel Church. Pastor Hurd is very active in men’s ministry and believes in the need for men to take their rightful place in ministry. His endeavor is promote salvation as the message of the gospel and overcoming this carnal nature as the goal of the message
